Trojan Hall of Fame Recipients


2007-2008:


Robert R. Brownlee - Class of 1941. Dr. Brownlee spent his careen at the Los Alamos National Laboratory until his retirement in 1992. Enshrined 2007.

 


D. Douglas Minnis - Class of 1947. Mr. Minnis taught and coached at Waverly Rural High School from 1954 through 1956, Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas from 1956 until 1969, and coached college basketball at Missouri Western College for the next 30 years. Enshrined 2007.


James Lou Brock - Class of 1936. Mr. Brock graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree. Lou lettered his first three years, then as a senior he made the All-American Team as a half-back. Lou then signed with the Green Bay Packers. In 1944 he was a member of the Green Bay team that won the Professional Football Championship, defeating the New York Giants. Enshrined 2007.


2006-2007:


Earl Hayes- Earl Hayes graduated from Stafford High School in 1933. Earl has been a life-long farmer and has been an active leader on the local,state, and national level. Most notably, he has served on the Stafford District Hospital Board, the Stafford Senior Citizen Center Board, the Stafford County School Board, and numerous others. When asked why he is so active, Earl replies, "I enjoy working with people, and I like to make things happen; not watch things happen and wonder what happened."


Thomas Allen Newton- Thomas Allen Newton graduated from Stafford High School in 1958. Dr. Tom has always been actively involved in the community wherever he has lived and has been described as brilliant, funny, and serious. He is an excellent writer, teacher, and administrator and is also known as a family-oriented man. Dr. Tom's goal has been to improve the educational process for both school children and for teacher's. Dr. Tom has influenced numerous students who have been touched by his life and teaching.


Sadie Eunice Adams-Eunice graduated from Stafford High School in 1923. She started her long teaching career in 1924 and continued to teach while she worked on her degree. Eunice's personal 38-year educational journey included training at Emporia State and at Sterling College. In 1961, Eunice received her degree. She continued to teach for a total of 48 years. Eunice says, "I have been blessed with a long and full life. Teaching is a great profession, and I highly recommend it. If I had to live my life over, I would still be a teacher."


The following is criteria and information concerning the Hall of Fame

Criteria for nomination includes:

1. Graduated from Stafford High School.

2. Graduate of at least 30 years.

3. Demonstrates determination, good character and integrity.

4. Can be a motivator and positive role model for present students of Stafford Schools.

Information to be submitted:

 

1. Special position held/awards/honors (civic, school, college, church, etc.)

2. Education background.

3. Community service.

4. Characteristics that set this nominee apart.

5. Three (3) letters of recommendation must be included. At least two letters must come from former graduates, with the remaining letter of recommendation as the nominator wishes.

6. A 4x6 photo.

7. One to two page biography which includes pertinent dates. Examples: Graduation date, discharge from armed services, etc...
